U12 girls match reports 29th September

Two matches took place today for the u12 girls squads.

The older first team of the age group started the season with a hard fought draw against Trojans. Many of the girls in both teams know each other and the rivalry was tremendous. All the girls played their hearts out and despite being early on in the season they showed that they have a good grasp of the game. Some superb defending from Lucy B and Imogen P kept the Trojans at bay whilst some great runs from both Elsa E and Amelie C helped to get the ball up in the Trojans D. It is too early to predict the outcome of the return match which is to be played in January, but I have no doubt that all of the girls will be raring to go when the time comes. It was a great team performance and it was especially encouraging to see the ball being transferred and the girls talking to each other increasingly as the game went on. Well played to all.

The final score was a 1:1 draw.

The other match of the day was played at 11am at Bar End by the youngest of new girls that have joined the u12s group. The match was played in great spirits despite coming up against a stronger Salisbury side. Hard fought after the match there were still smiles on faces and a good spirit remains. Lots to work on.

Final score 7:0 to Salisbury

Thank you.
